The views into and out of the village arise from the open landscape character of Aldington Ridge and will be safeguarded, in particular those afforded along Roman Road, Calleywell and Goldwell Lane.   The hamlets shall be protected from coalescence. Ancient hedgerows are a key part of the landscape character so will be protected and encouraged.

What we aim to achieve:

• Safeguard the views into and out of the village that arise from the open landscape character of Aldington Ridge, in particular those afforded along Roman Road, Calleywell and Goldwell Lane.

• Protect the parish from coalescence with adjoining parishes/Ashford/Folkestone. Ensure that Bonnington remains distinct from Aldington and the hamlets are prevented from coalescence.

• Ancient hedgerows are a key part of the landscape character so will be protected and encouraged.
