The Village Views photography competition was brilliant! Somewhat belatedly, we’d like to thank everyone who entered – we really enjoyed watching as the photos came in, though we knew deciding was going to be difficult!
The judges had an incredibly hard time choosing because the quality of the photos we received was high and the range of images so diverse. The panel agreed, however, that in addition to being a fantastic photo the winning image should capture the essence of Aldington or Bonnington in some way.
We are delighted to announce the overall WINNER as Alexander Hoyle, his photo ‘Moo with a View ‘ really captured one of the beautiful views that we are so lucky to experience everyday through where we live. Being on a sandstone ridge, high above the Romney Marshes, the views are glimpsed from many vantage points along Roman Road and The Knoll.
Our 5 RUNNERS UP were Georgina Cooper, Nick Fuller, Kaelyn McAdams, Fiona Nayer and Juliet Skinner. all of whom win a runner-up prize.
Congratulations to you all!
Judging was done via good old Zoom, in a virtual meeting chaired by Cllr. Linda Harman. We are intensely grateful to our judges, Paul O’Grady & Tim Boxall from The Art of Design who joined Roberta Spicer from the Parish Council to form our Judging Panel. We had huge fun during the judging session; Paul was, as usual, very entertaining and Tim surprised us all by offering to print the finalist images onto postcards for the photographers and for the parish council. We are now organising this and hope to make them available for you to buy and use.
